For those participants coming from the southeast, consider taking Amtrak's Auto-Train up from Sanford, FL to Lorton, VA, a 2.5 hour drive from our starting point in Staunton, VA.

The train departs at 4pm in the afternoon on June 20th and your car MUST be on board before 3pm.  No cars are accepted after that time.  The trip itself takes a little over 16 hours and will have you arriving in Virginia around 9:00 in the morning on June 21st.  The Amtrak station in Lorton, VA is approximately a two-hour drive from our starting point in Staunton, VA so you'll have plenty of time to make your way to Staunton in time for our kick-off get-together that evening.

The price of your ticket includes dinner the night of departure and breakfast the following morning.

Amtrak's Auto Train Requirements: PLEASE READ!!!

1. Cars MUST have 4 inches of ground clearance.  Stock MINIs meet the requirement, but MINIs that have been lowered may not comply.
2. Vehicles with temporary luggage racks, bicycle racks or luggage/bicycles loaded on the roof will NOT be accepted.
3. Animals are NOT allowed aboard the Auto Train except for trained service animals accompanying passenger with disabilities.  Animals are not allowed to remain in passenger's cars.
4. Passengers may NOT access their cars once they are on the train.  Carry anything you NEED with you in a carry-on bag.
